El Nino!
« on: August 14, 2015, 11:23:11 AM »
Heard on the news last night that a particularly strong El Nino current will peak sometime in late fall-early winter.  Are you seeing the same thing?  They suggested that it will bring warmer temps, but didn't say much about precip.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier, was having problems moving JcWeather over to a new server.

I have not looked over all the data and future weather patterns yet,
But, Strong El Nino usually indicate average to above average temps for the winter.
I usually don't rely on just one weather pattern to make my winter weather forecast.

I usually don't like to listen to local weather stations or the weather channel, for them it's all about ratings and they will embellish the future weather forecast.
Think about it, none of them have been right in long range forecast for the past 5 years or so.

I only use them to keep an eye on current severe weather like tornadoes and hurricanes.

Please let us know what you find out.  Although I love snow, my pocketbook would prefer less cold for this winter.  :P
