2016 -2017 Winter snow forecast
« on: December 01, 2016, 01:56:31 AM »
Hi all

Well here comes another winter, Last year I forecasted  14" and we got 27", most of that came in one storm of 22.4" the rest of the year we only got 5.1".

First here are the snow forecast totals from our local weather stations:

Channel  3:  24-30 inches
Channel  6:  24-30 inches
Channel 10: 28-36 inches
Fox :      23-30 inches

After going over all my data and taking into consideration the predicted weather patterns for the upcoming winter,
I feel we will be in the 12-18 inch range could be even less.

I think most of the storms will be mixed precipitation either starting out as snow and ending as rain(SLUSH) or beginning as rain and ending as snow(ICY under snow) I don't think we will have many all snow events.

I also think that the winter precipitation will be above normal but mostly rain events which is why I kept the snow totals down for the winter.

I think this winter Temperatures will be normal to above normal.

Thanks everyone
Have a very nice Christmas and an even better New Year.
